Zwłoki spalane są w temperaturze między 750 a 1200 stopni Celsjusza. Następnie popiół i kości, które pozostały po procesie mielone są w specjalnym młynie, po czym przesypuje się je do urny. W urnie jest zazwyczaj około 3,5 l prochów.
